Tennessee doubled its lead by capitalizing on FSU's defensive missteps.
Christian Moore doubled on a breaking ball, bringing Cal Stark home from first base, who scored on the FSU error. Next at bat, Blake Burke reached on fielding error to score Moore. Tennessee leads 4-1 going into the top of the third.

π’ Mid 1st | FSU scores to take early lead
The Vols made a call to the bullpen much sooner than planned in the first to stave off FSU's aggressive offense. Tennessee LHP Chris Stamos recorded his 10th start of the season and allowed a hit and walk before RHP AJ Causey took the mound. After Causey struck out a batter, FSU's Max Williams scored on a wild pitch as the Noles took a 1-0 lead.

With UNC returning to the top of the order, top-30 MLB draft prospect Vance Honeycutt came up big at the plate. Honeycutt slammed a line drive to left field on a 2-1 count, scoring Van De Brake for the 3-2 win. The Tar Heels have showed resilience late in their tournament contests β just one week prior, Honeycutt walked off West Virginia in Game 2 of the Chapel Hill Super Regional.
